QHow many questions are there in NEET (UG) 2026 and is there negative marking?

180 compulsory multiple-choice questions for 720 marks (Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Biology 90) in 180 minutes. Each correct answer earns +4 and each incorrect answer −1.[1]

QIs there an upper age limit for NEET (UG)?

No. As per the NMC letter dated 09 March 2022 quoted in the NTA bulletin, there is no upper age limit. The minimum age is 17 years as on 31 December of the exam year.[1]

QWhy was NEET (UG) 2026 held twice?

The examination was first held on 3 May 2026. NTA notified a re-examination, which was held on 21 June 2026, and the result declared on 16 July 2026 is based on the 21 June examination. Yes. MCC counsels only All India Quota, deemed, central university, AIIMS and JIPMER seats. State-quota seats are allotted by each state’s counselling authority on its own portal.[5]

QWhen is the MCC security deposit forfeited?

If you are allotted a seat in Round 2 or later and do not join it, or if an admission is cancelled (for example, because of wrong information or missing documents), the security deposit is forfeited.[5]
