How Is The PTE Score Calculated?

There are two skills that form the basis of the calculation of PTE score i.e. Communicative skills and Enabling skills.

    Communicative Skills:

    • This section measures the candidate’s speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.
    • The scoring scheme ranges from a scale of 10 to 90 in each of the four modules.

    Enabling Skills:

    • This section measures the candidate’s proficiency in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, spelling, oral fluency and written discourse.
    • The scoring scheme ranges from a scale of 10 to 90 in each of the six modules.

The final PTE score is calculated by taking the:

    • Average of the communicative skills (Adding up the score of each of the 4 modules and dividing by 4)
    • Average of the enabling skills (Adding up the score of each of the 6 modules and dividing it by 6)
    • Lastly, dividing the average sum of both the skills by 2 and you will have your exact PTE score.
